The Applied Diploma in Criminology blends elements of psychology, law, and sociology to explore crime and the criminal justice system. It consists of four units: Changing Awareness of Crime, Criminological Theories, Crime Scene to Courtroom, and Crime and Punishment. Students investigate why crimes go unreported, examine theories of criminal behaviour, understand the justice process, and evaluate methods of social control. Assessment includes two controlled assessments and two written exams. The course develops analytical, evaluative, and research skills, preparing learners for further study or careers in criminology, law, policing, or social and probation work.
