A-level Geography develops students’ understanding of physical and human geography and their interconnections. It covers four areas of study: Dynamic Landscapes, Dynamic Places, Physical Systems and Sustainability, and Human Systems and Geopolitics. Students explore topics such as tectonics, coasts, globalisation, regeneration, water and carbon cycles, climate change, and superpowers. The course includes an independent investigation based on fieldwork. Assessment is exam-based with three written papers and a non-examined assessment (NEA). The specification promotes critical thinking, data analysis, and decision-making, preparing students for further study and careers in geography, environmental science, and related fields.
