The A Level Media Studies course develops critical understanding of media through analysis and practical work. It’s structured into three components: Media Products, Industries and Audiences; Media Forms and Products in Depth; and Cross-Media Production. Students explore a range of media forms—TV, film, advertising, magazines, newspapers, online media, and more—using theoretical frameworks and key concepts.
Assessment includes two written exams (35% each) and a non-exam assessment (30%) involving original media production. The course encourages learners to engage with contemporary issues, media influence, and representation, while fostering creative and analytical skills essential for further study or careers in media.
