A-level Physical Education combines theoretical knowledge with practical performance to develop a holistic understanding of sport and physical activity. Students study topics such as Anatomy and Physiology, Skill Acquisition, Sport and Society, Exercise Physiology, Biomechanics, and Sport Psychology. The course also explores the role of technology in sport. Assessment includes two written exams and a non-exam assessment (NEA) based on practical performance and analysis. The specification encourages critical thinking, data interpretation, and application of theory to real-world sporting contexts, preparing students for further study or careers in sport science, coaching, or physical education.
